By: E&P Staff The Crested Butte (Colo.) News, Chronicle and Pilot has been sold to Robb Hicks and Gary Stevenson. Terms of the transaction, as well as the seller, were not disclosed.
The paid community weekly was formed in 1985 when the Crested Butte Chronicle and the Crested Butte Pilot merged. In 2000, the Crested Butte News began publishing and bought the Chronicle and Pilot, combing the three papers.
"We are very excited to be in Crested Butte and hope to continue the great tradition of publishing an award-winning, community minded newspaper," said Hicks in a statement.
Hicks and Stevenson own or have interests in other weeklies, in Wyoming, Montana, and Idaho.
David Emmons of W.B. Grimes and Co. represented the sellers in this transaction.
