Cutbacks Hit Jersey Journal

When the Newhouse family's Advance Publications implemented a restructuring recently that claimed more than 300 jobs at their New Jersey newspapers and affiliated portal website, it was made clear that the Hudson County-based Jersey Journal was not a part of the changes.

But that doesn't mean the Journal is immune to cost-cutting of its own: Capital has learned that four employees were laid off last Friday, three in the I.T. department and one in production.
