By: Mark Fitzgerald Now Chicago's 3 Biggest Papers Get Airtime
With the launching this week of a news alliance between NBC's
owned-and-operated WMAQ-TV and the Daily Herald in
Arlington Heights, the three biggest newspapers in the Chicago
market are all hooked up with a TV station.
In recent months, CBS affiliate WBBM-TV's 10 p.m. news program
has run previews of stories from the next day's Chicago Sun-
Times in a feature called "Early Edition." Over the last few
years, Tribune Co.'s WGN-TV superstation has featured Chicago
Tribune headlines and columnists in its news programs.
WMAQ will run "Daily Herald Suburban Headlines" on its 10
p.m. newscast, and contribute features to the paper from its
weather and sports personalities.
