By: (AP) The Daily Sparks Tribune plans to change from an evening to morning newspaper beginning next month with an added emphasis on local news, publisher Ed McCaffrey said.
The newspaper, which started publishing in 1905, will continue to be delivered seven days a week. It also intends to add more than 500 additional news racks throughout Reno, Sparks and Spanish Springs.
"As the market has grown and lifestyles have changed, it has become clear that the people of Sparks want their local news in the morning," McCaffrey said.
The first morning publication will be Dec. 3. The Tribune currently has a circulation of 15,000 on Saturday and 6,000 Sunday-Friday, according to the Nevada Press Association.
