'Dallas Morning News' To Print 'NYT'

By: E&P Staff The New York Times struck two deals with The Dallas Morning News to print and distribute the national edition of the paper in Dallas beginning in February.

"Our agreements with the Dallas Morning News will help us reach more readers in the Southwest with the Times's high-quality journalism," Scott Heekin-Canedy, president and general manager of the New York Times, said in a statement.

The deals in Dallas are with DFW Printing Co. the commercial printing arm of the Morning News.

The Austin American-Statesman is currently printing the national edition of the New York Times for distribution in Dallas. The Stateman will continue to print the New York Times for Austin.

"DFW Printing and the Dallas Morning News are proud to have the New York Times join our portfolio of daily national publications," Randy Chandler, vice president of DFW Printing Co., said in a statement.

Canedy signaled that the New York Times plans to announce a similar expansion plan later in the year.

With the Dallas deal, the Times is printed in 24 locations throughout the United States.
