By: E&P Staff The Dallas Morning News said Friday it is raising the single-copy price of its Monday through Saturday papers to $1.
In an unbylined story on its Web site, the Morning News said the cover price increase from 75 cents will begin Feb. 9.
The Morning News raised the weekday single-copy price to 75 cents from 50 cents last May. It also increased the price of its Sunday paper to $2 from $1.50.
"The News attributed the price hike to continued increases in the cost of newsprint and other economic factors," the story said.
It noted that revenue at parent A.H. Belo Corp. fell 13% through the first nine months of 2008 compared to the year-ago period.
