By: Dave Astor Dan Rather will still write his King Features Syndicate column after he steps down as anchor of the "CBS Evening News" on March 9.
"He wants to continue the column," King Managing Editor Glenn Mott told E&P. He added it was also King's wish that Rather keep writing.
The weekly column's client list has held roughly steady at about 50 newspapers since last month's announcement that Rather would be ending his 24-year anchor stint. He will continue to work full time at CBS for both editions of "60 Minutes" as well as on other assignments.
Rather, who began his syndicated feature in 1997, worked as a Texas newspaperman in the 1950s before moving to TV.
