By: Dave Astor As Dan Rather gets criticized for the CBS story about George W. Bush's National Guard service, his newspaper column seems to be under the radar.
Rather writes a weekly King Features Syndicate column that runs in about 50 newspapers. When contacted by E&P today, King Managing Editor Glenn Mott said he's not aware of any clients canceling the column or commenting to the syndicate about the controversy surrounding Rather. He added that Rather is continuing to submit the column each week.
Mott said Rather has not discussed the Guard-story situation in the column so far. Will he do so in an upcoming column? Mott did not know, and a spokesperson for Rather at CBS News wasn't immediately available for comment.
Rather, who began his King column in 1997, worked as a Texas newspaperman in the 1950s before moving to TV.
