By: E&P Staff The New York Times has named a new vice president/digital media at its Regional Media Group. Dan E. Shorter will take over the role on Sept. 8 and will report into Michael Golden, president and COO of the Regional Media Group, and vice chairman of the company.
Shorter, 53, most recently served as president, digital media for the Star Tribune in Minneapolis. From 1978 to 2008 he worked for Cox Enterprises eventually as general manager for the PalmBeachPost.com
"We are extremely pleased Dan is joining the Regional Media Group," Golden said in a statement. "He is a proven leader in interactive media who brings a deep understanding of what we need to do on the Web and in other digital forms."
Shorter is the recipient of the 2008 NAA Digital Innovator of the Year award.
