By: Carol Kaliff, a longtime photojournalist at The News-Times, has been named photo editor of the paper.
Kaliff, a Danbury resident, assumed her new position on Monday.
Editor Art Cummings, in making the announcement, said Kaliff has done "an outstanding job at The News-Times during her 32-year career here.
"Carol is an excellent photographer, she has a great feel for the type of photos our readers want to see, and she is well-liked and widely respected both in our office and in the community," Cummings said.
Kaliff is a graduate of The Thomas School in Rowayton and holds a bachelor of fine arts from the Kansas City Art Institute in Kansas City, Mo.
She worked as chief photographer for Brooks Community Newspapers in Fairfield County from 1975 to November 1977, when she joined the staff of The News-Times.
Kaliff has won numerous photojournalism awards during her career.
