The Malmo plant will allow Rotationen Nykobing to increase speed, capacity and quality of full-color print jobs, according to the company.

The floor-mounted Commander will have a 44-inch cylinder circumference, 62.5-inch maximum web width, and a 85,000-copy/hour maximum output in straight production.

The press will have four KBA Pastomat RC reelstands fed by a KBA Patras M reel-handling system, complete with stripping station; four nine-cylinder satellite towers for four-over-four printing; four turner bars; automatic roller locks; folder superstructure with two formers; and one 2:5:5 KF 5 folder with a section stitcher and double quarterfold capability. It also will have inline gluing and tabloid stitching. Provision was made to add towers, a folder and other equipment (skip slitter, ribbon stitcher) in the future.

The Commander will feature automated ink pumping and cylinder washing, two consoles with EAE print production scheduling and press preset software, RIP interface, diagnostics PC, and quality-assurance systems (cut-off register controls plus sidelay and web centerline controls).
