By: E&P Staff Dario Designs, Marlboro, Mass., reports signing four newspaper projects in December, four more last month, and masterplan services for a large commercial printer in Connecticut.
In what Vice President David Ehrhardt called "booming" work overseas for some of the largest media companies in their markets, Dario Designs has been retained for several more projects. Among clients not reported here earlier are The Cayman Free Press (the islands' largest newspaper), Sao Paulo's Abril (which also prints Brazil's largest magazine), and Prensa Libre, Guatemala City, (Central America's largest daily).
"We are learning a lot in the international market and hope to share the successes we see abroad with the U.S. newspapers to help pick them up," President Dario DiMare said in a statement. At the same time, the company reports that its 11 international projects now on the boards "are also benefiting tremendously from the experience of doing business in a tough U.S. economy."
