Day Hikes Pressroom Chemicals Prices

By: E&P Staff Day International, the Dayton, Ohio-based manufacturer and distributor of pressroom consumables, raised the price of its Varn pressroom chemical line as of June 16.

Attributing the increase to rising costs of materials, energy and transportation, the company said it applies to virtually all Varn fountain solutions, web conditioners, washes, coatings, and specialty products.

Jeff Pieper, senior vice president of the Chemical Products Division, said that Day "continues to pursue cost reduction and improved efficiency" but cannot entirely offset "cost increases caused by current economic forces and higher energy costs."
