D.C.'s 'Journopalooza' Tickets Go on Sale

By: E&P Staff Tickets are now on sale for the January battle among four of D.C.'s top bands composed of journalists from The Washington Post, the Los Angeles Times, McClatchy Newspapers, the Washington Independent, and Bloomberg News, among others.

Nobody?s Business, Anchorage, Suspicious Package and The Surge will seek to claim the title of Best Reporter-Based Washington Rock Group during the inaugural "Journopalooza" battle of the bands on Jan. 9 at the National Press Club.

Half the proceeds from the event will benefit the Committee to Protect Journalists? Journalist Assistance Fund. The other half will help fund the National Press Club?s training programs and scholarships.

Tickets are $20 and are available at journopalooza.com. Journopalooza's commemorative T-shirts were designed by Pulitzer-winning cartoonist Tom Toles of Suspicious Package (and the Washington Post), and are available on the site as a combo T-shirt/ticket package, priced at $35.
