By: E&P Staff Bill Dedman, a Pulitzer prize winner for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution in 1989, has been hired to join MSNBC.com's investigative projects reporting team. He will be based in Boston.
Dedman received the Pulitzer in investigative reporting for "The Color of Money," a series for the Atlanta paper on racial discrimination in mortgage lending. He presently serves as managing editor of The Telegraph in Nashua, N.H.
Dedman, 45, has written for The Boston Globe, The Washington Post and The New York Times. He was the first director of computer-assisted reporting for The Associated Press, and has taught journalism at the University of Maryland, Northwestern University and Boston University. He also founded the PowerReporting.com Web site of research tools for journalists.
