By: E&P Staff The Denver Post unveiled its first total redesign since 1985 on Tuesday, aiming to restore "visual energy" to the newspaper. Editor Greg Moore in a press release said the new look adds news space and offers better organization, which "fast forwards the Denver Post into the 21st century."
Moore contrasted the newspaper's former appearance of "ponderous and dense" with the redesign's "smart and sophisticated" look which includes "wow surprises."
Leading the project was J. Damon Cain, the newspaper's managing editor for presentation and design. Cain simplified the number of typefaces in headlines and articles to create a cleaner look. Added heads and story summaries "are aimed at ease of reading," according to the paper. The Sunday business section has been revamped and a new food section added.
The new look is being promoted in a radio campaign.
