'DeSoto Sun' of Arcardia, Fla., Names Sica Assistant Editor

By: E&P Staff The DeSoto Sun in Arcardia, Fla., has announced the promotion of Jon F. Sica to assistant editor. Sica has worked for the Sun for a little over a year doing copy desk design and then, in May, as a staff writer.

While working as a staff writer, Sica assisted with editorial duties and was mentored about the newspaper industry by previous editor Dawn Krebs. This guidance, he said in a Sun article, will make for a smooth transition.

Previous to working at the Sun, DeSoto worked as an orange grove supervisor while earning a bachelor?s degree in English from the University of Florida.
