By: Staff reports NAA's New Media Federation Recognizes Online Newspapers
As all facets of the newspaper industry converged in San Francisco this
weekend to see where technology may take them next, the Newspaper
Association of America's New Media Federation today awarded the Digital
Edge Awards to several newspaper Web sites that best utilize current
technology.
In its fifth year, the Digital Edge Awards now have nine categories.
The Best Online Newspaper Award has been split into three separate
categories: Best News Site, Best Regional or City Guide, and Best
Vertical Site.
'This year's winners are excellent examples of how to meld Internet
technology with local content to capture - and captivate -
audiences,' said Gordon Borrell, president of the NAA New Media
Federation and vice president of new media at landmark Publishing
Group.
