New York, NY (October 31, 2013) – Digital First Media today announced the completion of the sale of the San Jose Mercury News’ nearly 36-acre campus to Super Micro Computer, Inc.
The Company first announced the sale agreement with Super Micro Computer, Inc., a global leader in high-performance, high-efficiency server, storage technology and green computing, in September.
“This is a big step forward in Digital First Media’s ongoing digital transformation. We will continue to work to identify the best possible space for the San Jose Mercury News’ newsgathering, sales and operation units going forward,” said Steve Rossi, President and Publisher of the Bay Area News Group. “We are proud to have found a partner in this sale in Super Micro Computer that is also invested in our community.”
The sale agreement includes the 35.68-acre campus – currently home to the San Jose Mercury News and Bay Area News Group, including the 312,000-square-foot main building and 12,000-square foot garage.
The San Jose Mercury News will continue to occupy the building and plans to relocate operations in 2014.
