Dimon Kendrick-Holmes, a longtime journalist who has led newsrooms in Alabama, Georgia and North Carolina, was named executive editor of the Richmond Times-Dispatch.

Kendrick-Holmes, 58, also will serve as Virginia editor for Lee Enterprises, the parent company of The Times-Dispatch, and direct newsroom operations in Fredericksburg, Lynchburg, Charlottesville, Roanoke and other communities.

“I’m excited to be moving to Richmond to lead this storied newspaper and work with such a talented staff,” Kendrick-Holmes said. “Everybody says these are challenging times for journalism, and it’s more important than ever that we figure out how to serve our community, tell stories that matter to folks and connect with our audience.”
