Dolan Media Acquires Charlotte, N.C. Legal Paper 'Mecklenburg Times'

By: E&P Staff Dolan Media Co. said Friday it had acquired The Mecklenburg Times, a twice-weekly legal newspaper in Charlotte, N.C., from Legal and Business Publishers Inc., a company owned by the Kurie family.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

The Mecklenburg Times, which circulates primarily in Charlotte and surrounding Mecklenburg County, joins a cluster of other Dolan Media legal publications in the Carolinas, including North Carolina Lawyers Weekly.

"The Mecklenburg Times increases our investment and broadens our news resources serving professionals in the Carolinas," James P. Dolan, Dolan Media's chairman, president, and CEO said in a statement.
