'Doonesbury' Clients to Get Reruns as Trudeau Recovers from Accident

Posted
By: Dave Astor "Doonesbury" reruns will be distributed for at least a week starting next Monday as Garry Trudeau recovers from a broken collarbone.

Trudeau -- who was injured while skiing Thursday -- was in Aspen, Colo., last week to receive the Freedom of Speech Award at the U.S. Comedy Arts Festival. According to a DenverPost.com article, Trudeau arrived to accept the honor Friday while strapped to a gurney carried by two medics, and wore a sling on his right drawing arm.

Universal Press Syndicate will send the approximately 1,400 "Doonesbury" clients reruns from January 2003 to publish the week of Feb. 21. Trudeau works about 10 days in advance.
