Doonesbury.com Book Gathers Iraq War-Related Quotes

Posted
By: E&P Staff A book called "Doonesbury.com's The War in Quotes" will be released this August by Andrews McMeel Publishing.

It features an introduction by "Doonesbury" cartoonist Garry Trudeau of Universal Press Syndicate, and is edited by David Stanford of Doonesbury.com.

The 144-page book includes many quotes (that turned out to be completely wrong) uttered by the people who "conceived, planned, advocated, and executed" the war. One of the quotes is George W. Bush's classic May 2003 comment that "major combat operations in Iraq have ended."

There are also the words of Dick Cheney ("we will, in fact, be greeted as liberators), Donald Rumsfeld ("I don't do quagmires"), and many others.
