By: E&P Staff Don Imus' racist/sexist slur against the Rutgers University women's basketball team is old news now, but Doonesbury.com visitors are still voting on whether the shock jock should have been fired.
More than 22,000 votes have been cast as of this afternoon -- with 34% saying Imus deserved to be sacked because his "toxic" remark "has no place on the national airwaves," 45% saying he should have kept his job because he's "paid to be offensive," and 19% saying Imus deserved the humiliation but should have eventually been allowed "redemption."
The "Doonesbury" comic runs in about 1,400 newspapers via Universal Press Syndicate.
