By: E&P Staff Dow Jones & Co. has sold Screaming Media, a provider of syndicated general and business news to Internet and wireless services, to YellowBrix. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
For Alexandria, Va.-based news and business information provider YellowBrix, the Screaming Media purchase fits with other acquisitions it has made in the past decade. In 2001 it bought iSyndicate and in 2004 FluentMedia.
"The acquisition further extends YellowBrix' reach into the corporate community, and will continue to strengthen our position as a leading provider of targeted business news and syndicated information solutions to the corporate market," YellowBrix President and CEO Jeff Massa said in a statement.
