After finding homes in so many other places in New York City, bedbugs, it seems, may have at least paid a visit to The Wall Street Journal's Midtown offices in News Corp.'s Avenue of the Americas headquarters.
A section of the fourth floor was cleared for bedbug treatment on Oct. 4, according to the Journal's Metropolis blog that day.
Melanie West reported a company spokeswoman saying that after a staffer for Dow Jones' financial weekly, Barron's, "informed us of bed bugs inside his apartment building, we arranged to test the area around his desk."
Neither bugs nor signs of them were found. But when a bedbug-sniffing dog "did signal concerns," the spokesperson said, the area was steam cleaned and treated — a process expected to last into today.
