Down in the Dumps: Paper Reports Woman Nearly Killed in Garbage Truck

Posted
By: E&P Staff It's not every day the Metrowest Daily News in Framingham, Mass., or any other paper, gets to report the near-crushing of a woman in a garbage truck.

The paper has revealed that a local unemployed woman, Wendy Cobb, was searching for aluminum cans inside a dumpster when a garbage truck came along and emptied it.

The truck driver was about to press the compacting button when a worker, who was installing carpet nearby, heard the woman screaming, and alerted the driver, just in time.

Cobb was treated at a local hospital for an ankle injury.

She told the newspaper she has a bad back and collects cans when she needs money for gas. The dumpster was nowhere nearly filled, so she did not expect it to be emptied, she said.
