Doyle Named 'Naples Daily News' Pub

By: E&P Staff Chris Doyle has been named president and publisher of the Naples (Fla.) Daily News. He was serving as interim publisher after John Fish left the position abruptly in July.

Doyle, 40, was previously the paper's vice president of advertising.

"Throughout his career, Chris Doyle has improved the editorial quality of the newspapers he manages as well as the performance of the businesses within his responsibility," Mark Contreras, senior vice president of newspapers for E.W. Scripps, owners of the Naples Daily News, said in a statement. "Chris is an extraordinary gifted media executive and one of the very few in our industry who's worked in both the content and revenue areas of our business."

Prior to joining the Naples Daily News, Doyle served as president and publisher of the Daily Chronicle and Northern Illinois Publishing in DeKalb, Ill. He also worked in the advertising department at The Times Leader in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., where he started as an assistant city editor. He worked as crime and courts reporter and the city editor for The Key West (Fla.) Citizen.
