'Draw the Dog' Creators Offer Free Cartoon Promoting Adoption

Posted
By: E&P Staff Bruce Kasanoff and former Disney cartoonist Jim George, both dog owners and dog lovers and the creative minds behind the online cartoon "Draw the Dog? -- about the ups and downs of dog ownership -- are offering newspapers a little something for free.

In support of adoption efforts, Kasanoff and co. created an eye-grabbing cartoon that features a group of dogs and the words ?Rescue me!? Any publication that runs a pet adoption feature is welcome to use the image for free. All the ?Draw the Dog? folks ask is that the paper credits DrawtheDog.com as the picture?s source.

Check out the image, here.

Since the cartoon?s launch, Kasanoff has been allowing newspapers to publish one "Draw the Dog" cartoon per week for free, in the hopes of reaching more readers and giving newspapers the opportunity to publish quality content gratis.

?It?s a win-win,? Kasanoff told E&P last fall. ?People who come online and look every day will still come online, newspapers will get to publish it for free, and it?s a way to extend the cartoon.?
