Digital Technology International, Springville, Utah, added eight people to its European and U.S. offices. In Europe, Charlotta Medin was hired as a project manager for Scandinavia, and Sven Muchow is a new advertising trainer based in DTI's office in Darmstadt, Germany.

Trained in computer science and engineering and fluent in Swedish, English, French and Spanish, Medin was systems manager at Dagens Nyheter, Sweden's largest morning newspaper. She earlier worked as an analyst in interactive media and multimedia at the Swedish Office of Science and Technology in San Francisco, and as a computer consultant throughout Europe and the U.S. for Cambridge Technology Partners of Cambridge, Mass.

Before joining DTI, Muchow worked in marketing and advertising at Der Reporter, a weekly in Neustadt, Germany. His experience at newspapers dates from a three-year internship at Kreiszeitung Syke, a daily in northwest Germany, after which he studied at the Institute for Marketing and Communication in Berlin. He also studied in the U.S and speaks German, English and French.

At DTI's Brentwood office in the U.K., Adriana Centanni joined the training department as an application specialist.

Recent new hires in the U.S. are Julie Bird and Randy Palmer, both as classified advertising trainers. As a design and development database manager for the FranklinCovey Profile Center in Salt Lake City, Bird traveled worldwide installing software and training users. Before joining DTI, Palmer was a consultant for managing the migration from one telecom billing system to another. He also worked as a training program manager for NACT Telecommunications, Provo, Utah, and a training specialist for Universal Computer Systems. Houston. Palmer speaks Portuguese and Spanish.

Separately, DTI also announced its new division to handle business systems implementations. The new team consists of existing DTI staff and three new hires: Volker Spachman, Robert Heiser, and Scott Andersen. DTI is now a certified SAP business partner for U.S. newspapers in the small and mid-sized business marketplace, and is staffing to support resulting projects.
