By: E&P Staff Martin K. Till publisher of the Express-Times, Easton, Pa., said he expects the former Easton Publishing Co. plant to be sold by January to an attorney in Phillipsburg, N.J., across the Delaware River from Easton.

Originally a movie theater, the 1927 structure became the location of the newspaper's commercial printing business in 1960. It printed 18 student newspapers and community publications, including the Phillipsburg Free Press, before it closed in 2001, according to the Easton-Express.

How the building will used be remains under consideration, attorney Michael Perrucci told the paper. Neither he nor Till disclosed the sale price.

The newspaper's senior media consultant, John Goretti, who ran the printing operation, said the plant used the region's first roll-fed offset press.

The paper reported that it plans to move plant's smaller press, which it has used for about two and a half hours per week for small in-house jobs, to its headquarters.
