ECRM Debuts Agfa Chem-free Violet Plate

Posted
By: E&P Staff In what it calls "the first live demonstration of violet chemistry-free workflow in the Americas," ECRM said it will image Agfa's new N92-VCF violet chemistry-free plates on its Mako NEWSmatic platesetter at the Graphics of the Americas trade show in Miami Beach, today through Saturday.

ECRM also is showing WorkMates NEWS workflow solution and announced that its authorized Caribbean dealer, Intergraph, will demonstrate the MAKO 4x platesetter.

"Our patented flatbed violet laser imaging technology has been honed to maximize the quality and productivity benefits of violet chemistry-free plates, while ensuring maximum cost and energy efficiencies," ECRM Latin American Business Manager Ed Millhorn said in a statement.

MAKO platesetters "draw as little energy as it takes to light three 100-watt light bulbs, according to ECRM. "Flatbed imaging technology allows the plate to be loaded onto the platen and imaged directly. The energy required to move the plate during imaging is but a small fraction of what it takes to start and stop a drum," said ECRM Product Engineering Manager Dave Connor.
