Ed Bushey has been Appointed General Manager of Newsday Media Group

Newsday announced that Ed Bushey has been promoted to SVP, General Manager of the Newsday Media Group.

In his new role Bushey will provide leadership to NMG’s operations, production, print and digital audience development and analytics, as well as direct aspects of the company’s technology advancement in production, distribution and finance.

“I am excited to be in a position that will help lead this organization into the future, and work with the creative, resourceful, and bright-minded team that we have here at Newsday. I am truly looking forward to my new role and the opportunities that it brings,” Bushey said.

“Ed continues to impress me with his creative and innovative approaches to problem solving and his strong leadership abilities,” said Gordon McLeod, NMG Publisher.

Since joining Newsday in 1993 as a financial analyst, Bushey has held various positions including Director of Financial Planning and Analysis, Vice President of Operations and Distribution, and most recently Senior Vice President of Audience and Operations. Bushey has played an instrumental role in building and maintaining solid relationships both inside and out of the Newsday Media Group.

Among his many accomplishments was his leadership of $12 million dollar pressroom upgrade project. Bushey is a native Long Islander who resides in Melville with his family.
