By: E&P Staff The daughter of "Dick Tracy" creator Chester Gould has been nominated for an Edgar Award by the Mystery Writers of America.

Illinois-based Jean Gould O'Connell was cited for her 2007 biography of her late father, according to the Northwest Herald of Crystal Lake, Ill. The story also noted that Chester Gould (1900-1985) won the Edgar in 1980.

The latest Edgar winners will be named this May.

In less positive news, the Northwest Herald also reported that the Chester Gould-Dick Tracy Museum in Woodstock, Ill., will be closing this June for economic reasons. A virtual museum is planned.

Dick Locher now does the 1931-launched "Dick Tracy" for Tribune Media Services.
