Emma Tucker, the new deputy editor of the
Times, has hailed the "phenomenal" rise of women to senior editorial positions in UK national newspapers.
Tucker, the former editorial director of the
News UK title, was promoted to deputy editor last week as part of a wider restructure at the
Times and
Sunday Times.
At the
Sunday Times, the columnist Eleanor Mills was made editorial director and Sarah Baxter, the
Sunday Times Magazine editor, was appointed deputy editor.
