Editor in Chief Audrey Cooper to Leave San Francisco Chronicle


Audrey Cooper, The Chronicle’s editor in chief, told her staff Monday she would leave the newspaper later this month for a new position in journalism.

Cooper, 42, has been The Chronicle’s editor since 2015, when she became the first woman to hold the position, shortly before the publication’s 150th anniversary, and the youngest woman ever to lead a major metropolitan newsroom in the U.S.
