By: E&P Staff Matt Davies is the latest in a growing group of editorial cartoonists to launch a
blog.
"My aim," Davies wrote in his initial post, "is to pry the lid off the process and hardships that a newspaper editorial cartoonist encounters on deadline every day, and share it with whomever cares."
He added: "The best cartoonists should make it look easy. But there's a lot of reading, thinking, sketching, pacing, writing, and coffee that goes into whittling down a host of complex thoughts, analysis, and ideas into that simple little drawing."
Davies -- who told E&P that he plans to let the blog "evolve and see where it takes itself" -- is a Pulitzer Prize-winning cartoonist for The Journal News of White Plains, N.Y., and Tribune Media Services. He's also a past president of the Association of American Editorial Cartoonists.
