By: E&P Staff Editorial system developer EidosMedia has announced plans to enter the North American market with Methode, its media-neutral editorial platform. The Italian company has appointed Fred Wilson as marketing manager for the U.S. and Canada.
Founded by a group of former Unisys Italia developers, Milan-based EidosMedia has installed Methode in a number of large dailies in Europe, among them London's Financial Times, and also has users in Africa and Asia.
The Methode system is an XML-based cross-channel publishing system that touts powerful editing tools in addition to knowledge-management features. M?thode allows editorial content to be published simultaneously through multiple channels, from print and Web to radio, to TV and syndicated distribution. Its enterprise-wide knowledge resource management platform and workflow environment can be configured to handle the large media organizations with diverse holdings.
Fred Wilson, a former journalist, has 15 years experience in the planning and implementation of major editorial systems in the USA and elsewhere. Former employers include systems developers Unisys and CCI.
