By: E&P Staff Switzerland's Le Temps has chosen EidosMedia's Methode as its new editorial system, which will serve approximately 120 editorial staffers. Physically located in Le Temps' Geneva offices, the installation will be managed and maintained from EidosMedia headquarters in Milan, Italy, using high-performance data links.
"We already carry out remote management for two customers in Italy ... but this is the first time we have extended the service internationally," EidosMedia Managed Services Vice President Matteo Fiocchi said in a statement.
Methode will replace a QED system, based on QuarkXpress. The new pagination environment, EidosMedia's XML-based Xsmile, integrates advanced page design and layout with multi-edition planning and tracking and text editing.
Le Temps was created as a result of the 1998 merger of the Journal de Gen?ve, Gazette de Lausanne, and Nouveau Quotidien dailies.
