Elchert Named Publisher of Warren, Pa., Paper

By: E&P Staff John Elchert is moving from publisher of The Daily Mining Gazette in Houghton, Mich., to the same position at the Warren (Pa.) Times Observer.

Both papers are owned by West Virginia-based Ogden Newspapers, Inc., and the Times Observer is located near two other Ogden papers, allowing for cooperation.

"There's a lot of sharing of news stories, photos, and graphics, a lot of combination selling in advertising, and a lot of joint circulation," Elchert said. "There's a lot of special sections they can do as a group."
