Election-Cartoon Show Includes 'St. Louis Post-Dispatch' Drawings

By: E&P Staff An exhibit called "100 Years of Election Cartoons: 1908-2008" opens this Saturday.

It's being presented by the State Historical Society of Missouri in conjunction with the University of Missouri's celebration of the 100th anniversary of its journalism school.

The exhibit includes originals of St. Louis Post-Dispatch cartoons by the late Daniel Fitzpatrick, the late Bill Mauldin, and the retired Tom Engelhardt.

A Columbia (Mo.) Daily Tribune story said the show will be in the basement of the University of Missouri's Ellis Library, and that the historical society will spotlight Engelhardt's work in its main gallery. Engelhardt, now 77, is scheduled to speak at the gallery on Oct. 13.
