Encyclopedia Focuses on African-American Media People, Including Columnists

By: E&P Staff Virginia Tech communication professor Sam Riley has authored a two-volume encyclopedia titled "African Americans in the Media Today" (Greenwood Press).

The book focuses on the careers of 246 African Americans, including a number of syndicated and local newspaper columnists. Also covered are media people in the TV, radio, and magazine fields.

Riley is the author of 15 books, including three about newspaper columnists.
