By: E&P Staff Enternet LLC, Lisle, Ill., will install its e3000 inserter control system on 27 different inserter lines at seven Knight Ridder newspapers, where it will replace older controls.
The sites include two current Enternet users, the Philadelphia Inquirer and the Ft. Worth Star-Telegram, and five new accounts, The Miami Herald, San Jose Mercury News, and Contra Costa Times in California, The State, Columbia, S.C., and Akron (Ohio) Beacon Journal.
Installations of seven lines at Philadelphia are completed. Installations of three lines at Contra Costa, three at San Jose, seven at Miami, three at Ft. Worth, and two at Akron are in process. Installation on two lines in Columbia will be completed later this year.
Connected to a newspaper's enterprise network, the e3000 inserter control system is integrated into the preprint planning system and provides for sub-ZIP Code zoning and advanced advertiser verification of insertion performance. It includes daily, Sunday, and TMC packaging with full demographics and variable imaging anywhere.
Philadelphia Inquirer Packaging Director Ed Poletti said in a statement that the system's management reporting package and data warehouse enable "the kind of reporting capability we need here in Philadelphia to optimize our operations on all our inserter lines."
