By: Greg MItchell From California to South Carolina, E&P has once again selected "10 That Do It Right."
Five Pulitzers count, but so does raising revenue and circulation for 10 years straight.
Since we've been doing this for five years now, you might say we finally have our own "Hot 50" list of hitmakers. But as we observe annually, we are not honoring the "10 Best" newspapers but 10 papers that can serve as a model for others in one (or several) important areas: Editorial. Community awareness. Effective advertising or marketing ideas. Online innovations. Diversity in coverage and hiring.
So let the hits keep on comin'.
Our 10 winners for this year follow. Each is profiled in our July 2004 issue, available online to subscribers on Monday.
