'E&P' QUESTION OF THE DAY: How Much Would YOU Pay for 'NYT' on the Web?

Posted
By: E&P Staff The New York Times Co. seems to be inching closer to charging for its Web site, according to Bloomberg News, which reports
the Times is surveying print subscribers to see if they would pay $2.50 per month for Web access.

The survey also reportedly notes a $5-per-month charge for Web access by non-print subscribers may be an option.

However, it might have been nothing more than the usual marketing/survey department trying out a number. But the story adds that the Times Co. "will probably begin charging users to access its news on mobile devices before it does so on its Web sites," according to Martin Nisenholtz, the Times head of digital operations.

The new E&P Question of the Day asks, How much would YOU pay for access to the Times' site -- if anything?
