By: E&P Staff Two more top prizes came Editor & Publisher's way in the 53rd Annual Jesse H. Neal Awards for business journalism during a March 22 ceremony held at the Waldorf Astoria in New York.
The awards, sponsored by American Business Media, are often called the Pulitzers of the business press. E&P won for News Coverage (for dozens of articles on the press and Iraq) and for Subject-Related Series (six feature stories written by Jennifer Saba and Mark Fitzgerald on the Knight Ridder/McClatchy deal and its aftermath). It is the third year in the past four that E&P has won for its Iraq coverage, with contributors including Joe Strupp, Barbara Bedway, Sarah Weber, and Greg Mitchell. Saba also took home the best-series award last year.
The magazine received five finalist nods this year, the most for any publication. It has earned 11 Neal Awards in the past five years. Only one publication, CSO, has won more.
