David Parker of Springfield, Minn., recently purchased the weekly Comfrey Times from Gary Richter and renamed it The Times-Gazette.

Northwest Publishers Inc., Spirit Lake, Iowa, represented the seller.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Landmark Picks Up Two Weeklies

Landmark Community Newspapers Inc., Shelbyville, Ky., has purchased two paid-circulation weekly newspapers -- The Williston (Fla.) Pioneer and The Williston Sun-Suwannee Valley News -- from Bess Williams.

Landmark combined the two into a new publication, the Williston Pioneer Sun-News, which it is delivering to subscribers of both papers.

Terms of the deal were not announced.

Scranton Times Buys Richmond Papers

The Scranton Times L.P., parent of The Scranton (Pa.) Times and The Tribune in the same city, has purchased two Richmond, Va.-area community newspapers, the weekly Henrico County Leader and the monthly Far West End Press.

Terms of the sale were not announced.
