By: For the third consecutive year, Editor & Publisher was one of the top winners at the Jesse H. Neal National Journalism Awards, the top honors in business or trade journalism, announced on March 16.

At a luncheon at New York's Waldorf-Astoria Hotel, E&P took home the prize for best editorial or opinion column for the fourth time in five years. The magazine also won, for the second straight year, first prize for best news coverage. Once again that winning entry focused on our ongoing coverage, both in print and online, of press issues surrounding the Iraq war.

Editor & Publisher has now been recognized by the Neals seven times in the past three years. The awards, now in their 51st year, are administered by American Business Media.

There were more than 1,000 entries this year in the award competition and 28 winners were named.

Whitney Sielaff, publisher and editorial director of National Jeweler, was named winner of the second annual Timothy White Award for Editorial Courage and Integrity. Baseline, a magazine devoted to information technology, won the Grand Neal for best single entry.
