Eric DuVall Named Managing Editor of the Tonawanda (N.Y.) News

By: E&P Staff Eric DuVall has been named managing editor of the Tonawanda (N.Y.) News. His position, which was announced June 7 by Greater Niagara Newspapers, will become effective immediately.

DuVall most recently worked for the LockPort (N.Y.) Union-Sun & Journal, which is also published by Greater Niagara Newspapers. As a staff reporter and then night/city editor, DuVall garnered several awards from the New York State Associated Press and the New York Newspaper Publishers Association for his coverage of U.S. automotive supplier Delphi?s bankruptcy filing in 2006.

Carlene Peterson, the former managing editor of the News, left the paper the previous week. In addition to his responsibilities as managing editor, the News announced that DuVall will also write a weekly opinion column in the Sunday editions of the paper.
