By: E&P Staff Avusa Media has launched Times LIVE, the new digital home of the Sunday Times and The Times of Johannesburg, South Africa, on the Escenic platform. Other Avusa titles also will roll out on the platform.
The revamped and rebranded Web and mobile sites have improved major news sections, feature new special-interest subsections and redesigned multimedia and blog sections, and offer better functionality.
"From a base of just over 240 000 unique users in September 2007, our audience has grown 180% to 691,571 unique users, according to July's Nielsen Market Intelligence results," Avusa Media Digital General Manager Eric Lohmann said in a statement, adding that Times LIVE is now the country's third biggest news site.
The Escenic Content Engine, used by more than 600 news media sites, will foster better editorial management and content integration, with referencing and archiving, and facilitate integration of print and online content.
